Hello Tech@zwo team,
Regarding your comments. I would like to ask how we can locate the mechanical zero of the CAA rotator, and whether it would be possible to include an option in the driver to move the rotator to that mechanical zero position.
On another note, I’d like to emphasize a couple of functional suggestions for the driver:
The current option to limit rotation to 180° needs some fine-tuning, since depending on the position of the mechanical zero, the actual movement can exceed 300°. Would it be possible to include a button in the driver (perhaps under Advanced Options, similar to the autofocus settings) to enable or disable automatic rotation depending on the operation mode (Plan, Preview, Autorun)? For example, allow the user to turn off rotation when doing a GoTo, after a meridian flip, or at the start of a plan.
It’s quite frustrating to set the rotation angle, take flats, and then see the CAA suddenly rotate 180° after a GoTo—forcing you to repeat the flat calibration routine.
It would also be very useful to have an option to define a park position for the CAA at the end of a plan. This would help users who don’t dismantle their setup after each session and have filter wheels protruding below the telescope tube.
I believe these features would significantly enhance the system’s flexibility and operational safety.
Thank you in advance for your great work and support.
